Does posting raise only your status, or does it set off talk across the village? Ties turn pink while either end is talking. Bursts of talk follow your posts (seeds-count ticks up) and die out within a few hours.
Try this Raise network-density from 14 to 30 and press Reset (ties are built at setup). Ties go from about 30 to about 50, talking-count averages two to three times higher, and mean-status roughly doubles, while your-status barely changes.
About this model Where it ends up The run stops after 168 ticks, one simulated week. At the defaults your-status ends several times higher than mean-status.
A MathPets model of a small conversation network seeded from your X activity. It never downloads your follow graph: it builds a synthetic village of village-size people, you included, whose roles are drawn in proportion to your reply, repost and quote shares, wires them with random ties, and runs one simulated week at one tick per hour.
You get 6 random ties; everyone makes up to three more, each with probability network-density percent, and amplifiers may add one more. Each hour every status shrinks by status-decay percent. You post with a chance scaled from posts-per-day that peaks at peak-hour; a post raises your status and you talk for 3 hours. Anyone with a talking neighbor joins in with probability 20 + 10 per talking neighbor + engagement-power/4 percent, talks for 2 hours, and gains status by role (amplifier 0.55, quoter 0.4, replyer 0.35, core 0.15, scaled up with more talking neighbors). Villagers update one at a time, so talk can pass through several people in one hour.
Status is not passed along ties; each person earns it by talking. At the default network-density of 14 the village is sparse, about 30 ties for 40 people, so many villagers never talk and their status simply decays. Connecting X sets the sliders from aggregate numbers (following count, posting rate, peak hour, reply, repost and quote shares, interactions per post); the roles and wiring are hypothetical, and no post text is used.
