Alan Turing's 1952 morphogenesis paper showed how interacting chemicals can form biological-looking spots, stripes, and waves. This model uses the Gray-Scott reaction-diffusion family, a common modern route to those patterns.

Every patch stores two continuous fields, U and V. A seeded region starts the reaction; each staged tick computes a Laplacian for local diffusion, applies feed and kill terms, clamps the fields, and maps the V concentration directly to color. The presets shift the same equations into different visual regimes.
