Scale-free networks - the web, citation graphs, protein interactions - share a signature: most nodes have a handful of links while a few hubs have enormously many. Barabasi and Albert traced that power-law tail to one mechanism, growth plus preferential attachment, where each arriving node links to existing nodes with probability proportional to their degree.
This port starts from two seed nodes and one edge; each tick one dormant node wakes, picks links-per-node partners through a degree-weighted lottery, and wires in. Nodes are tinted and sized by degree tier - gray leaves, amber connectors, orange hubs - so watch the rich get richer as the max-degree monitor pulls away from the average.
